Public Works Department
The Public Works Department ensures that the borough operates smoothly and looks its best at all times. They are responsible for:
- Park and field maintenance
- Roadway and alleyway maintenance and repair
- Snow removal from roadways, sidewalks, and steps
- Tree and brush trimming
- Leaf, tree, and shrub removal
- Combined sewer maintenance
- Catch basin cleaning
- Stormwater management
- Painting of crosswalks and yellow lines
- Maintaining and upgrading signage
- Repairing and replacing traffic signals
- Municipal trash removal
- Seasonal decorations (flags, Christmas decorations, military banners)
The Department of Public Works is led by Rich Rapp, Public Works Coordinator/Code Enforcement, who is directly overseen by Chief of Police/Borough Manager Bruce Fromlak. They currently employ 7 full-time and 3 part-time staff. They also have an array of vehicles and equipment, including 3 5-ton dump trucks. 2 pickup trucks, 1 high lift/back hoe, 1 Pelican sweeper, 1 Falcon asphalt trailer, 1 leaf vacuum trailer, 1 35-ft. bucket truck, and 1 Kubota grass cutter with various attachments.
